Pico de gallo is an excellent garnish for all manner of dishes. Use it anywhere you would use fresh salsa, or, for that matter, use it to swap out the bottled salsa in your life. Whether as a snack topping for chips or a little extra vegetable on a taco, it’s a great recipe to get comfortable with.
Ingredients
- 1 tomato, diced
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- ½ jalapeño pepper, seeded and chopped
- 2 sprigs fresh cilantro, finely chopped
- 1 green onion, sliced
- ½ tsp. garlic powder
- ⅛ tsp. salt
- ⅛ tsp. pepper
Directions
- Stir all ingredients together. This will keep in the fridge for three days.
