Fresh cider is one of the joys we delight in during the chilly fall months, which means that it’s bound to make an appearance at parties from harvest time to New Year’s. Fortunately, it’s a treat that comes with little guilt. Dress it up for Halloween, Thanksgiving, or even Christmas for some responsible fun.
Tip: For easy straining, toss your spices in a mulling bag.
Ingredients
- 2 quarts apple cider
- 4 cinnamon sticks
- 1 Tbsp. whole cloves
- 1 tsp. ginger
- ½ tsp. allspice
- 6 pieces orange peel
Directions
- In a stock pot, combine all the ingredients. Simmer for 30 minutes and strain. Serve warm or cover and refrigerate overnight.
- Reheat and serve in mugs.
