Mexican-Spiced Chocolate Avocado Mousse

Avocado is a great base for a lightly sweet mousse, bringing a powerful nutritional pack to the dessert table. Cinnamon and cayenne pair with chocolate here for a lively, well-balanced treat.

Tip: This mousse can keep in the fridge for up to two days.

Ingredients

  • Mousse:

    • 2 avocados
    • ¼ cup cocoa powder
    • ⅔ cup unsweetened, plain almond milk
    • ¼ cup maple syrup
    • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
    • 1 tsp. cinnamon
    • ¼ tsp. cayenne pepper
    • ⅛ tsp. salt

    Toppings:

    • ¼ cup mixed nuts
    • 4 strawberries, sliced

Directions

  1. In a large food processor, blend all mousse ingredients until smooth.
  2. Divide between 4 ramekins and refrigerate until chilled (1 hour).
  3. Divide nuts and strawberries between ramekins to serve.
