Grapes and cabbage might seem like unusual partners for a savory dinner dish, but they work beautifully together with the aromatics to produce a rich flavor. If you’ve got grapes and cabbage waiting to be used up, this is a great dish for making sure they don’t go to waste.
Ingredients
- 1 cup sliced onion
- 1 Tbsp. olive oil
- 4 dried shitake mushrooms, rehydrated and sliced
- 4 cups sliced Napa cabbage
- 2 cups halved red grapes
- 2 Tbsp. chopped fresh basil
- Pepper to taste
- ¼ cup water
- 1 tsp. cornstarch
- 2 Tbsp. low-sodium soy sauce
Directions
- Sauté onion in oil until tender (6-8 minutes).
- Add mushrooms, cabbage, grapes, basil, and pepper to onions and stir-fry until cabbage is crisp-tender (4-5 minutes).
- Combine water and cornstarch. Stir into cabbage.
- Add soy sauce and cook until sauce thickens (1-2 minutes). Serve.
