Jicama has a texture similar to potato with a slightly sweeter flavor, not dissimilar to apple. The nearly neutral flavor pairs well with many spice combinations, so get creative! A little lime juice would pair gorgeously with the chili powder. Or make them a dessert treat with a combination of cinnamon and nutmeg!
Ingredients
- 1 large jicama, peeled and either spiralized with a wide setting or cut into fry shapes
- 2 Tbsp. olive oil
- ½ tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. onion powder
- 1 tsp. cayenne pepper
- 2 tsp. chili powder
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 425ºF. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Toss jicama with oil and spices. Spread evenly on the baking sheet.
- Bake for 15 minutes, flip and bake for 10-15 minutes, watching during the last few minutes to avoid burning.
