Pizza and waffles are always fun…and so is combining them! Make the pizzas your own by adding your favorite veggies and lean meats as toppings for a more filling meal.
Ingredients
- 1¼ cups white whole wheat flour
- ¼ tsp. salt
- ¼ tsp. baking powder
- 1 large egg
- ½ cup + 1 Tbsp. skim milk
- ¼ cup plain, non-fat Greek yogurt
- 2 Tbsp. olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic
- ¼ tsp. dried oregano
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ¼ cup part-skim mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup Guiding Star-worthy marinara sauce
Directions
- Preheat your waffle iron.
- Stir together flour, salt, and baking powder.
- In another bowl whisk together the egg, milk, yogurt, oil, garlic and oregano.
- Pour the wet into the dry and stir until fully incorporated. Fold in the Parmesan cheese.
- Grease your waffle iron with cooking spray and cook waffles according to the instructions with your waffle iron.
- Place the waffles on a baking sheet. Spread a light coating of sauce on each waffle and top with cheese. Broil in your oven for a 2-3 minutes until the cheese is lightly browned.
- Serve with extra sauce for dipping on the side.
